Standardized testing dates for the 2024-25 school year

The Bayfield High School FFA Chapter celebrated a milestone achievement this summer when Natalie Wright became the chapter’s first-ever state officer upon being announced as the 2024-25 State Reporter at the conclusion of the Colorado State FFA Convention in Pueblo on June 3-7.

Dr. Jason Wayman, a southwest Colorado native and former principal of Montezuma-Cortez High School, was tabbed by district leadership last month to assume the principal duties at BHS in the 2024-25 school year.

Seniors at Bayfield High School completed the final day of their high school career on Wednesday, and their sites are now firmly set on Sunday’s graduation ceremony — and the 8th graders at Bayfield Middle School have a big day on the way too!

Throughout Bayfield School District this week members of the team are being celebrated — and celebrating each other — through a number of recognitions of Staff Appreciation Week.

On April 25, Bayfield High School hosted the Intermountain League (IML) Art Show in the main gymnasium of the facility, and Bayfield’s art students certainly put their best on display.

Educators in Bayfield received a big vote of confidence from their school board last Tuesday night when the group approved an $8,000 across-the-board increase in base pay for all certified staff members.

After a comprehensive six-month review, administrators and teachers at Bayfield Middle School and Bayfield High School have identified the math curriculum they believe is best-suited to the needs of students and the community, and have asked the Board of Education to consider adopting it at their next meeting on April 23.

Major donation will bolster Bayfield High School's career and technical education programs, and open the door to new opportunities for BHS graduates.
