Welcome to Bayfield High School

“Positive people, positive communication, positive interactions and positive work and team cultures produce positive results. Every person, every career, every organization, every family and every team will have to overcome negativity, adversity and challenges to define themselves and create success. Optimism, trust, enthusiasm, love, purpose, joy, passion, and spirit to live, work, and perform at a higher level; to build and lead successful teams; to overcome adversity in life and at work; to share contagious energy with staff and students to bring out the best in others and in yourself; and to overcome all negative people and negative situations that threaten to sabotage your health, family, team and success.” –The Energy Bus, Jon Gordon. We have built and implemented amazing opportunities for our students and staff over the past few years. I am excited to continue focusing our positive energy on the great things that we have planned for Bayfield High School students.

Skills USA

I have to brag on the SkillsUSA club and students. I am not sure how our success at districts and state was shared; however, we received a nice letter from the Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives. I just wanted to let everyone know about this wonderful recognition our kids received. For those of you who are new to the district, I started SkillsUSA just over 10 years ago here at Bayfield HS, and what an awesome run we have had and will continue to have! Students have qualified for Nationals 7 times of the 11years we have had the Bayfield Chapter. Students have earned the following titles: 3 time Cabinetmaking state champions, 1 time Carpentry state champions, 3 time quiz bowl Champions, 1 time Web Design state Champions, and 1 time Extemporaneous speaking. We have also had many years of finishing in the top 3 at State Level Contest. I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. Look for more great things to come!
