Dude. Be Nice week is in full swing as color teams compete in the annual kindness competition. Teams are challenged to perform three acts of kindness: one at the high school, one in the community, and one in another district school. Additional points can be won for random acts of kindness throughout the week. Dude. Be Nice t-shirts are for sale in the library for $20.00.

On Saturday, April 29, the team will travel to Monte Vista for their final league games of the season.
I have to brag on the SkillsUSA club and students. I am not sure how our success at districts and state was shared; however, we received a nice letter from the Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives. I just wanted to let everyone know about this wonderful recognition our kids received. For those of you who are new to the district, I started SkillsUSA just over 10 years ago here at Bayfield HS, and what an awesome run we have had and will continue to have! Students have qualified for Nationals 7 times of the 11years we have had the Bayfield Chapter. Students have earned the following titles: 3 time Cabinetmaking state champions, 1 time Carpentry state champions, 3 time quiz bowl Champions, 1 time Web Design state Champions, and 1 time Extemporaneous speaking. We have also had many years of finishing in the top 3 at State Level Contest. I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. Look for more great things to come!
