BHS Parents and Guardians,

Great teams are collectively positive. They have a collective belief and contagious optimism-and it starts with you. When you believe, you can inspire others to believe. When you have faith, you can inspire others with it. You will face a lot of adversity, resistance, and negativity, but always remember that your certainty, optimism, belief and faith must be greater that all of the negativity, fear, and doubt. Share your optimism, belief and faith with your team. When you subtract negativity and add positivity to your talent, the sky is the limit. Let’s get positive. Let’s get going.”- The Power of Positive Leadership, Jon Gordon. I am excited to focus our positive energy on amazing opportunities for our students and continuing the great things that we have planned for Bayfield High School students.

Welcome Back!  I am looking forward to another great year and the opportunity to continue our work with an outstanding staff and incredible students. I can’t wait to see each and every one of you and hear about the great things that you did over the summer as well as celebrate the student successes that happened over break.  We will be continuing to hold ourselves and students to high levels of accountability through maintaining a high standard of a positive climate and culture in our building. We will also evaluate data and open a dialogue that will allow us to continue offering a first-class education as well as recognize and encourage positive behavior and support students at every level. Join us for BHS Open House on Thursday, August 17th from 4:00-6:00 pm, we will have hot dogs and root beer floats for the first 200 attendees.

Please remember that school starts on August 22nd. We will be having an assembly in the morning that will include welcome back messages, Wolverine Cup activities, class meetings, and opportunities to go over the student handbook; we will have an abbreviated schedule that allows students to attend all of their classes and get started on a great year! Student schedules will be available on the first day and. Please remember that schedule changes will only be made by signing up with the counselors and must be completed by September 1st.

As always, summer reminds us of the importance of family and friends. I hope that each of you are able to spend the remaining time before we come back together with your families, hold them close and hug them tight. Rest and relax for the last few days of your break.  I am ready to work with an energized team to continue our focus on the great work that we have initiated over the past several years!

GO WOLVERINES!!!
