On February 8, 2022, Bayfield High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
students traveled to Adams State University in Alamosa, CO to take part in the 2022 FBLA
District #8 Leadership Conference. Gwen Thomas (grade 12) and Joe Lybarger (grade 11)
qualified today for the FBLA state leadership conference in Vail, CO by placing high in their
individual and team events.
Thomas placed first in Securities and Investments while the team of both Thomas and Lybarger placed 3rd in Business Management. In addition to their events, students participated in an interactive session with Senior Presenter from TeamTri, Scott Mathie. Mathie's session focused on improving student leadership through mindful communications skills, including collaboration, clarifying, and celebrating successes, however large or small.
